Ukraine—Three new Technical Regulations Approved for Eco-design Requirements
On December 13, 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved three technical regulations regarding the eco-design requirements for energy-consuming products. Following are the three approved regulations:
Technical Regulation on Eco-design Requirements for No-load Condition Electric Power Consumption and Average Active Efficiency of External Power Supplies: approved via Resolution #150 and based on the European Commission Regulation #278 and European Directive 2005/32/EC.
Technical Regulation on Eco-design Requirements for Household Washing Machines: approved via Resolution #738 and based on the European Commission Regulation #1015/2010 and European Directive 2009/125/EC.
Technical Regulation on Eco-design Requirements for Household Refrigerating Appliances: approved via Resolution #158 and based on the European Commission Regulation #643/2009 and European Directive 2005/32/EC.
On April 1, 2018, new technical regulations for radio electronic devices came in force in Ukraine. These technical regulations are subject to the Decision № 355 “On approval of the Technical Regulations for Radio Equipment” (UA RED TR) applied by The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 24.05.2017.
Any product approved using R&TTE documents will require a new approval by April of 2019 using RED documents (updated DoC and supporting test reports, etc.) as a basis for that approval.
There is a transition period from April 2018 to April 2019 where products approved on RTTE supporting documents can be sold freely, but starting April 2019 all products must comply with RED TR in Ukraine. This means a new approval, as stated above, using RED supporting documents must be submitted and completed by April 2019.
