POTRAZ (Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe) approval refers to the regulatory approval that businesses and service providers in Zimbabwe must obtain from the authority before they can offer certain telecommunications and postal services in the country. POTRAZ is responsible for overseeing the regulation of the telecommunications sector, including the allocation of licenses, enforcement of standards, and ensuring the efficient functioning of telecommunications and postal services. Any company intending to operate as a telecommunications provider, such as mobile network operators, internet service providers (ISPs), and other telecommunication services (like VoIP services), must be licensed by POTRAZ. These licenses ensure that the company meets technical, financial, and legal requirements before offering services to the public.
POTRAZ also regulates the import and sale of certain telecommunications equipment (e.g., mobile phones, modems, and network infrastructure). Companies or individuals wishing to import or sell such devices must seek approval from POTRAZ to ensure compliance with standards and regulations. This may involve registration or certification of equipment to guarantee that it works safely and is compatible with Zimbabwe's telecommunications network.

Zimbabwe POTRAZ label requirements:
The product must be labeled with the Name, the Operational Frequencies and the Transmit Power.
The product marking should be done physically on the product except where :
1.The product is too small (less than 1 cm by 1 cm) to be carry a visible label
2.The product is a module that only works as part of another device, in which case the label is needed on the main device.
The packaging must also carry labeling, but other than the Brand Name, the remainder of the package labeling is up to the manufacturer.
Frequencies allowed in Zimbabwe
The 900 MHz band is primarily used by mobile network operators in Zimbabwe for providing cellular services.
The 2.4 GHz band is considered lightly licensed, meaning users can access it with a simple registration process.
This frequency is primarily used for WiFi access in Zimbabwe.
