Type Approval in Vietnam
MIC approval in Vietnam refers to the approval process conducted by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) for telecommunications, information technology, and media-related products and services. This includes licensing and regulatory compliance for businesses operating in these sectors.
To operate legally, companies may need to obtain various licenses and approvals, such as:

Telecommunications Services License: Required for companies providing telecom services.

VNTA approval in Vietnam refers to the approval process conducted by the Vietnam Telecommunications Authority (VNTA), which is part of the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC). This approval is essential for companies involved in telecommunications and related services, particularly concerning the import and use of telecom equipment and technologies.
The VNTA oversees:

Equipment Certification: Ensuring that telecommunications equipment meets national standards and regulations.

Licensing: Granting licenses for telecom services, ensuring compliance with legal and technical requirements.

Regulatory Compliance: Monitoring compliance with laws governing telecommunications and broadcasting.
Obtaining VNTA approval is crucial for businesses to operate legally in Vietnam's telecommunications sector, and it involves submitting detailed documentation about the products or services to be offered.
To obtain Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) approval for your telecom products in Vietnam we will require:

Acceptable CE reports.

A local representative required. If you do not have one, CSIA can provide this service.

A sample will be required for testing. Test reports/renewals will no longer be accepted as of September 2020. Once a certificate is issued under these new regulations, renewals will be allowed.

Lead time is approximately 10-12 weeks from the time all documents and samples, if required, have been collected.

The MIC certificate is valid for 2 years.
Vietnam Type Approval label requirements:
After obtaining the type approval certificate, the local office has to do two the following steps :
The local rep needs to request a label code id from VNTA authority then they will issue NAME and CODE approved for manufacturer to print label.
Print or attach the type approval label into the product, or nearest to the approved product (if too small), to be done by the local office or certificate holder. The logo sample of the label is in ellipse shape with the following information :

ICT in English Abbreviation of Informatics Communication Technology.

NAME is full name of local office, certificate holder

XXXX-NNNNNN is the management code, in which XXXX is controlling code and including 4 number and NNNNNN in separate number, beginning from 000001 to 999999.
Announce the information related to type approval label (including name of local office and management code) in the product in written letter to the management authority.
Frequencies allowed in Vietnam
Vietnam’s Ministry of Communications (MIC) recently released Circular No. 18/2017/BTTTT introducing the new EMC RF standard QCVN 112:2017/BTTTT.
This new standard, together with QCVN 18: 2014/BTTTT, designates the requirements for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for wireless broadband transmitters listed below:
Radio communication equipment using spread spectrum modulation techniques in the 2.4 GHz band;
Radio access equipment operating in the frequency band 5150 MHz to 5350 MHz, 5470 MHz to 5725 MHz and 5725 MHz to 5850 MHz;
High-speed radio access equipment from 57 GHz to 66 GHz; and BWA/WiMAX broadband radio access equipment in both TDD and FDD modes.

The Bộ Thông tin và Truyền thông (MIC) has issued a circular establishing the 1710-1785 MHz and 1805-1880 MHz frequency bands plan to deploy mobile communication systems according to IMT-Advanced and subsequent standards, allocating specific frequency bands and bandwidths, with provisions for transitioning from existing technologies.

The Bộ Thông tin và Truyền thông (MIC) has issued a draft circular planning the 1710-1785 MHz and 1805-1880 MHz frequency bands to deploy mobile communication systems according to IMT standards.
Also the Bộ Thông tin và Truyền thông (MIC) has issued a draft circular amending and supplementing the list of goods of radio transceiver and information technology equipment that must undergo certification of conformity and/or declaration of conformity.
