Tanzania
Regulatory Approval

Type Approval in Tanzania

Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) approval refers to the regulatory authorization given by the TCRA, the body responsible for overseeing communications in Tanzania. The TCRA approval is typically required for businesses, individuals, or products that involve communication services or products such as telecommunications, broadcasting, and online platforms.

For example, companies launching telecommunication services, operating radio or TV stations, or selling communication devices in Tanzania must obtain TCRA approval to ensure their operations comply with local laws, regulations, and standards set by the authority. This could include anything from licensing requirements, spectrum allocation, or device certifications.

TCRA's role is to ensure that all communication services are safe, effective, and meet quality standards, while also promoting fair competition in the sector.

  • Type approval in Tanzania requires acceptable CE reports.

  • Sample may be required based on type of equipment being approved.

  • Lead time is approximately 8-10 weeks from the time all documents have been collected.

  • Certificate is valid indefinitely.

Tanzania TCRA label requirements:

While there are no specific label requirements, it is suggested that you follow FCC or CE Mark label guidelines.
