Type Approval in Sierra Leone
The National Telecommunications Commission (NATCOM) in Sierra Leone is the regulatory authority responsible for overseeing and regulating the telecommunications and broadcasting sectors in the country. It ensures that these services are provided in a way that is efficient, accessible, and beneficial to the public.

Type approval in Sierra Leone requires acceptable CE reports.

Lead time is approximately 4-6 weeks from the time all documents and samples have been collected.

Certificate is valid indefinitely.
Sierra Leone NATCOM label requirements:
« Consistent with Section 9 (2) of the Electronic Communications Regulations 2020, every supplier, importer, distributor or seller shall, where applicable, ensure that equipment offered for sale or for private use is clearly affixed with the type approval label containing the following:
The logo of the commission,
The product type/category; and
A unique Type Approval Number.
Frequencies allowed in Sierra Leone
900 MHz band is allowed in Sierra Leone and is commonly used by mobile network operators like Africell, Orange, and QCell to provide cellular coverage across the country.
