Type Approval in Senegal
ARPCE (Autorité de Régulation des Postes et des Communications Électroniques) is the regulatory authority responsible for overseeing the postal and electronic communications sectors in the Republic of Congo. The ARPCE ensures that these sectors operate in compliance with national laws, standards, and regulations, promoting fair competition, protecting consumer rights, and ensuring quality service.
The ARPCE certification refers to the official recognition or authorization granted to entities, businesses, or service providers within the telecommunications and postal industries in the Republic of Congo. This certification is crucial for companies that wish to operate legally in these sectors.

Type approval in the Republic of Congo requires 1 sample for in country functional testing.

Requires acceptable CE reports.

Local representative required.

Lead time is approximately 2-3 weeks from the time all documents have been collected.

The ARPCE issued certificate is valid for three years.

There are no specific label requirements, however it is suggested that you follow the FCC or CE Mark label guidelines.
Frequencies allowed in Senegal
900 MHz frequency band is allowed in Senegal and is commonly used for mobile phone networks, particularly for 2G and some 3G services; this is confirmed by information regarding spectrum allocation in the country and discussions about cross-border coordination with neighboring countries like Gambia regarding the GSM 900 band usage.

Regulatory Updates For Senegal
August 2023
The Autorité de Régulation de Telecommunications et des Postes (ARTP) has published the assignment of frequency spectrum to a Mobile Network Operator (MNO) for the deployment of 5G network services in the 700 MHz and 3,4-3,8 GHz bands.
May 2022
On March 17th, ARTP issued a new regulation for Short Range Devices.
The new ARTP SRD Table in force in Senegal opens new bands for applications below :

Inductive applications like Wireless Chargers

RTTT (24.05-24.5GHZ and 77-81GHz)

Non specific applications including radars (57-64GHz)

radiodetermination, TLPR, TLP

Non Specific including VWB (6000-8500MHz)

September 2021
A new Type approval regulations guideline has been released by SENEGAL agency ARPT, on September 9th, 2021
The change in this regulation is the sample requirement announcement. This regulation states that a sample must now
be provided for any approval in the country.
This new provision will enter into force at the beginning of the year 2022.
Currently all the submissions are made without samples.
Senegal is in the process of building a laboratory which will be used for testing samples.
This laboratory will be ready for the beginning of the year 2022.
