CONATEL demands that DIGICEL and all operators strictly comply with the Circular of May 31, 2022 during tariff readjustments.
The Director General of CONATEL, Ing. Joses JEAN-BAPTISTE, met this Friday, May 17, with the Director General of Digicel, Mr. Jean Philippe BRUN, to discuss in particular the issue of modifying the tariffs of telecommunications services sold to the public. CONATEL requested that Digicel rigorously apply the circular of May 31, 2022 relating to tariff changes and the reassessment of any measure that did not comply with it. According to Article 1 of said circular, any creation or modification of telecommunications service tariffs must be submitted to CONATEL for non-objection at least eight clear days before its application. CONATEL reminds all operators that failure to comply with this information obligation will result in the application of penalties as provided for in said Circular.

CONATEL type approval in Haiti requires acceptable CE reports.
Requires one sample for in country testing functional testing. Sample is not returned.
Lead time is approximately 8 weeks from the time all samples and documents have been collected.
Certificate is valid indefinitely.

Frequency Allocation

If a company needs to operate a communication system that requires specific radio frequencies (e.g., mobile network, TV, or radio broadcasting), they must obtain the appropriate frequency licenses from CONATEL.

Equipment Approval

Before deploying or selling telecommunications equipment (such as mobile phones, radios, or network infrastructure), companies must have the equipment approved by CONATEL to ensure that it meets local technical standards and does not interfere with other services.
