ARCEP-BENIN does not require labeling (label) on equipment approved but the presentation of the approval certificate issued by ARCEP-BENIN the customs officer before the entry of the equipment on the territory Benin.

This following information regarding a change that is occurring in Benin ARCEP
Starting January 2024 the Benin agency, ARCEP, is now requiring a sample for Radio electric devices TYPE approval process in the country
Please note before only terminal equipment (such as PC, tablet, Smartphone, Notebook…) required samples
November 2021
L’Autorité de Régulation des Communications Electroniques et de la Poste (ARCEP) in Benin issued a statement reminding the public that terminal equipment intended to be connected to an electronic network must be homologated beforehand by ARCEP. All importers or vendors of mobile phones, tablets, and other radioelectric devices should ensure their devices are homologated by December 31, 2021, or they will face penalties and the devices will not function on Benin’s networks.

ARCEP, the telecommunications regulatory agency of Benin has updated the requirements for the homologation and certification of telecommunications equipment in the country. Order No. 045 / MCTIC / DC / SGM / CTJ / DGER / SA of December 29th, 2008 setting the approval regime for terminal equipment and radio installations in Benin has updated the requirements for the Business License.
In the past, only the local representative company had to provide its business license. This update initiated by the executive secretariat of ARCEP has highlighted that from now on the local representative company as well as the manufacturer of the equipment will have to provide their original business license translated into French, the official language of the country.
